About
01: WELCOME
Welcome to
Wavefield Recordings,
a residential recording studio in the south-west of Ireland just outside the beautiful town of Clonakilty.
02: FOCUS
where the studio serves the music
We are Brian and Sarah, two music addicts with a recording habit.
Having experience as artists and songwriters ourselves, our focus is on providing a calm yet productive creative space, where the studio serves the music, not the other way round!
Songs created in our quiet corner of the world have racked up millions of streams and regularly enjoy airplay on national radio in Ireland, on the BBC and stations further afield.
We work with a wide range of artists across multiple genres, and we are extremely proud that we have made long lasting connections with many artists and labels, working on multiple projects as their careers and styles develop.

The studio's rooms are purpose built to have a simple yet flexible setup with inspiring acoustics while keeping a connection to the outside world.
Our ever expanding collection of instruments both new and old are kept close to hand ready to capture when the ideas are fresh while our favorite pieces of equipment both analog and digital are always at arms reach ready to subtly shape or entirely mangle sounds as needed.
You can hear some diverse examples of songs we’ve produced and mixed below, and if you’d like to chat with us about your music or just say hello please get in touch.
OUR PROCESS
01: PRE-PRODUCTION
Pre production is one of the most underestimated and most important parts of the recording process. It can be an extremely simple process or involve a lot of input and direction from the producer, but regardless of what form it takes the preparation you do in advance of recording will make one of the biggest differences to how well your session goes.
03: MIXING
Once recording is finished, we will usually send the artist a rough mix of the song, so they can listen back over it, judge it with fresh ears and send us any feedback or notes they might have for the mix.
On average mixing takes about a day per song and we agree a price per song depending on the complexity of the production and the amount of editing required.
